El Gringo Mexican Food Restaurant originated in 1978, Topeka, Kansas.
 
Within 5 years El Gringo had established 5 restaurants in Topeka.

The first El Gringo offered inside seating for 60 people with Drive Thru and Carry Out.

The second restaurant was located in the downtown area and served the business sector with inside seating and carry out.

The third El Gringo restaurant was located in north Topeka, and served the business and residential areas with inside seating and carry out.

The fourth restaurant opened by El Gringo Inc. served breakfast and lunch with more of the standard American foods.

The fifth restaurant that El Gringo opened was known as “The Salad Bar” which was the first in Topeka to offer over 65 different items.

El Gringo Mexican Food Restaurants prepared all foods on site with special formulating seasoning.

The El Gringo restaurants employed an average of 45 employees, full and part time, with each store designed to operate with 4 people. The record number of orders produced at the downtown El Gringo location was 134 orders in a little over one hour using the special designed assembly food area.

El Gringo operation concept design will accommodate serving the smallest to the largest of site. El Gringo restaurant Down town is a 20 by 20 foot free standing building that includes carry out only and is operated with 2 people.

The newest El Gringo is located in Thunderbird Square shopping center, 29th and Croco Road. 

El Gringo is designed to fit the location or town that a franchisee would like to be at.

No Lard is used in any of our food process and we boil our extra-extra lean meat so that it will be tender.  You will not find any grease dripping from El Gringo Food.
